Why zeal?

Simply put, zeal is passion that leads to a pursuit. God Himself is full of it. He has zeal for the fame of His name, the hearts of His people, & the furthering of His Kingdom. This is the heart of the Gospel.

God saw it fit to create us in His image so that He could share Himself with us. We were connected to Him in full harmony until we chose to rebel against Him by pursuing our own ways. This caused a terrible fracture in all creation, especially our relationship with God. We stood guilty, helpless, & in desperate need. Yet, it was His passion that led Him to pursue us. He made a promise that was brought to completion in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the greatest display of God’s zeal for us. He came to earth, lived out perfection, became sin, took our place, died a sinner’s death, rose again in victory, & made it possible for us to be reconnected to God once again! This was done as a result of God’s zeal. When we trust Jesus & begin following Him, this same zeal is put inside our hearts.

We desire to be people that have God’s passion lead us to pursue His fame, building up His people, & advancing His Kingdom. This means that we will take risks & go to great lengths. No one is too far gone. We will stop at nothing to love those around us & point them to our God. As we pursue Jesus Christ as our greatest passion, we believe that He will move people from apathy to action.
